My Job Search journey in Dubai

Hello Dreamers,

I'm writing this blog post to discuss my Dubai job search experience. I would like to share some important information and my experience of living in Dubai for the past two years. I wish I had known this knowledge before starting my job search in Dubai. Some of you who travel to Dubai might find their ideal job easily with this information. Let's get started. :)

After being married, I travelled to Dubai in 2022. I already had a respectable pay cheque and was working remotely at the time. I intended to hunt for a job in Dubai without leaving my current position. I assumed it would be simple. I have no idea why I assumed it would be simple. It's not as simple as you may imagine to find a job in Dubai. I used to apply for thousands of jobs every day on sites like Indeed, Bayut, and LinkedIn, but I never got a call. I began to question whether these job postings were fake. I then learnt from one of my friends that in order to get a job in Dubai, you need to have a strong connections. My efforts in that area were lacking, I was unable to establish solid relationships in Dubai. If you are a friendly and extroverted person, you might try using mobile apps like meetup to meet new people and get a sense of any opportunities.

One thing I noticed is that there are a lot of sales jobs accessible in Dubai. Every day, a lot of walk-in interviews for sales positions take place. It can be exhausting and awful to go to walk-in interviews, but if you're willing to put up with the hardship, you should definitely do it.

You can find job postings with walk-in dates by simply searching for "walking interview" on Indeed's job site. The only website with genuine job postings is Indeed. Indeed is used by many employers to find applicants. Personally, I don't trust LinkedIn or Dubbizle when looking for a job in Dubai. Many scams occur on those websites. So, be aware. If you stay on Indeed and keep looking for a job, you might find one day.

In Dubai, there are many fraudulent companies that would give you an offer letter without conducting an interview and then demand payment. Avoid these scammers at all costs.

The idea of this blog is not to discourage anyone. I just wanted to let everyone know about my experience looking for a job. Dubai is a fantastic city with plenty of opportunities. This place has a lot more to offer if you are worthy. I hope your job search goes well. I hope this knowledge helps you get the job of your dreams.

All the Best ... Never forget that smile on your face, no matter how difficult your struggles may be 😊
